Tip #15: Focus on Meaningful Relationships

    • Taking time to give to the meaningful relationships in our lives can have a direct effect on our health through happiness, connection, giving back, and so much more.

    • How can we continue to cultivate strong healthy relationships with our family, friends, loved ones, and community?

      • With your partner: make it a priority to carve out one-on-one time that has nothing to do with kids or work. A time to talk and share your thoughts, and spend quality time together can go a long way to maintaining a healthy relationship.

      • With your kids: Set up simple “parent-kid” dates with each child. It doesn’t have to be all day long but a couple hours here and there can go a long way to staying connected with your kids and ensuring a space where they feel comfortable talking with you about what is going on in their life.

      • With your family and friends: Zoom happy hours are a great way to stay connected with our family and friends that aren’t close by. Even though you aren’t connecting in-person you are still pouring into that relationship from afar.

      • With your community: Volunteer and give of your time to your community. Community connections are so important to our overall health and well-being. Volunteer at church, at a food pantry, for your local nature or wildlife preserve. Hospitals have a lot of programs where local volunteers are needed.
