Healthy Habits and Your Happiness
A couple of months ago a friend of mine got a new dress. She loved this dress and I loved how it looked on her. She had me try it on, and I absolutely loved it. It was a dress that could be flattering on anyone. She let me borrow it to wear one day.
I loved it so much that I wanted to get my own. It was more on the expensive side, but when I checked they were having a sale. It was over 50% off so I splurged and bought it.
We told other friends about this dress and had them try it on. So many people loved it and nearly ten of our friends ended up buying one for themselves. This dress made us feel happy, it was comfortable, and we liked how we looked. There were so many positive things about this dress we couldn’t possibly keep it to ourselves.
I relate this experience about the dress to things that bring me happiness. Spending time with my family and friends makes me happy, they bring me joy. My faith brings me a lot of happiness. A big one I want to touch on is how healthy habits bring me joy.
I have had my fair share of ups and downs when dealing with my health, especially mental health. I often saw starting a journey of healthy living as a drag. I lacked the motivation to get started and assumed I couldn’t actually stick with a program, so I didn’t even bother to try.
It took me a while to realize how much happier I was when I was sticking to healthy habits for myself. I had to get to a place where I had the right mindset for it. The joy and happiness I discovered by creating healthy habits for myself inspired me to do what I do.
When something brings us happiness and joy, we want to share it with others.
I was in charge of a health and wellness program at the university I attended. I assigned each person involved with a program to a wellness coach and personal trainer. When it first started out, there were about 50 participants, but as time went on more than 400 participants joined the program. The program grew because the participants recognized the benefits of implementing healthy habits. It brought them joy, so they shared it with their friends.
Implementing healthy habits into your lifestyle can bring you long-lasting joy and happiness. Maybe you are overwhelmed by all the information out there about how to get started, what to avoid, or what to add. Or perhaps you’re afraid of failure, etc. Don’t let your excuses get in the way of finding the joy healthy habits can bring to you.
At 7Core Wellness, we simplify all that information and are client-focused. That means we focus on how we can best help you; we don’t use a one size fits all approach. If you would like to discuss further about how to get started, please set up a call time with me. I would love to help you find the long lasting joy of healthy habits.
To your joy and happiness,
